The Fond du Lac Lutheran Home began its ministry in May of 1947. There were fourteen members at the beginning of the Auxiliary. Now the Auxiliary boasts over 40 members.

The Auxiliary will celebrate their 55th anniversary in May of 2002.

The Auxiliary is very active in the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home. They provide activities and sponsor parties for the residents of the Home and the assisted living complex. They spend endless hours making hand craft items to sell in the Treasures Unlimited Gift Shop. They hold an annual Fall/Christmas Bazaar in November.

All proceeds of their hard work is returned to the Home. They have contributed over $24,000 in the past 5 years. Items included are:

  • popcorn machine
  • bird aviarys
  • beauty shop sinks
  • hymnals for the chapel
  • aqua pumps
  • therapeutic recreation items for resident entertainment
  • Mother's Day corsages
  • St. Patrick's Day parties
  • Bingo parties
  • Christmas parties and gifts
  • and a major contributor to the Generations of Caring Capital Fund Campaign.

The Auxiliary meets monthly, September through June, the last Wednesday of each month. They do not hold regular meetings in July or August. If you would like more information concerning meeting dates and times or would like to become a member of the auxiliary, please contact the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home.

words of praise

If I can stop one
    heart from
    breaking,
I shall not
    live in vain;
If I can ease one
   life the aching,
Or cool one pain,
Or help one
   fainting robin
Unto his nest again,
I shall not live
    in vain.
